Close of Day 4

Posted By Kelly Orange on September 23, 2008

Tonight we got ready and left for Zen`s in the pouring rain. We took a taxi because the legal drinking limit here is .03 which is pretty much one drink. The taxi driver dropped us off and as everyone headed up the stairs I noticed a sign hung on a chair that said “CLOSE”, which I guess they think means closed. Super bummed out Nancy, Rick and I waited under an overhang while Rich took the umbrella to see if any of the close by restaurants were open. It didn`t really matter that we were standing under something because the rain flew in all directions. Rich came back and grabbed Nancy for the first shift but they soon came back. Turns out he saw a sign that said “Open” but didn`t check to see if it was actually open, I guess it was the hours they were open. Apparently Tuesday is one of the “close” days for Okinawan restaurants. Rich walked to the department store San A (3 A`s in Japanese) and grabbed a taxi, picked us up and we headed back to base to Macaroni Grill. Dinner was nice, I had some lobster Ravioli which was OISHI (delicious) and since everyone knows Richard Milano, we got a free desert that we didn`t really need after all the eating we have been doing. By the time we were done the rain had stopped so we walked home, which wasn`t really close & I ended up with a big blister from my sandals…….oh well.

Once home Rich pulled out all kinds of presents for Ricky`s birthday which was a total surprise to him. All kinds of cool tshirts, and other japanese gifts and then a beautiful japanese print from a famous artist that I can`t recall right now. Tomorrow we head out to the beach at Okuma and Pineapple Park!!!
