P.Y.T.

I’m BACK…. I couldn’t help but post these two pictures…The pool is at the Marriott Del Mar during the Beer & Sake Festival, and the colors just make me feel all warm & fuzzy inside as with the other which makes me feel like a P.Y.T. It’s been 9 months since I last dyed my hair. Probably the longest stretch that it’s been colorless in the past 9 years. I feel normal with my hair this way – and it makes it even better when a customer at work says “Wow, I’m not one who usually likes all that kind of stuff, but that looks really good!” Love it. I’m not sure why it took me so long, guess I just needed a break, and probably because it’s high maintenance & I’ve become increasingly lazy in regards to caring how my hair looks. Sad but true.
In other sad news, Michael Jackson died two days ago 1958-2009. Internet traffic slowed to a crawl- almost shut it all down – I found out from Christopher, my co-worker, who got a phone call – I looked at the twitter feeds which where all abuzz, and my sister text msg’d me as well. People were gathering at the hospital, Neverland, The Apollo & at his childhood home within hours. It is all that has been on TV for the past couple days… eclipsing the deaths of Farrah Fawcett, a few hours earlier & Ed McMahon, the day before. I wonder if it makes it at all easier on their families or if they feel they are not being honored? Who knows which is better.
Only 50 years old. Michael Jackson was/is a genius that changed the way music was viewed & created. He was such a performer – A living legend, who is now gone just 2 weeks before his comeback tour. The man endured so much in his life I can’t even comprehend what it would be like looking out from the inside. The things he’s seen, the things he’s done, the things he’s had to hide from, the things he gave to others, the things he kept himself from doing, the things that scared him, the things that scarred him, & the things he did to himself are all out on display- the saddest things & the happiest things. He had a level of stardom that I’m not sure if any can ever again achieve. I’m pretty sure the majority of the world KNOWS who he is & is familiar with his music – even if they have never seen a moving picture of him, or even a static one – no matter how penetrating visual imagery is these days – auditory images are a little farther reaching and they have probably heard him. Almost every time I’ve been at a function where there is dancing, I will request him – just a great way to get everyone to dance – join in, be part of something. He brought people together, for as much as he himself had to be secluded. Is that Irony?
