“Art is a fruit that grows in a man, like a fruit on a plant, or a child in its mother’s womb.” – Jean ArpMission:
Fruit of the Soul is an annual fundraiser to support the preservation
of music, art & sustainable education in San Diego. We believe that
music, art & nutrition ARE the fruit of our souls & the preservation
of such in our educational system is necessary for our youth’s left & right brain creativity & growth. At Fruit of the Soul we seek out local organizations working for causes we believe in, as well as those in need of community support. We also enjoy a good party! Join the two and you have an amazing event with passion for the cause and movers & shakers for the party!
About the Beneficiaries:
Monarch School:
“Did you know that the average age of a homeless person in San Diego is NINE YEARS OLD? Today, THERE ARE MORE THAN 2,200 HOMELESS CHILDREN in San Diego and more than 300,000 nationwide. Together, we can change that. It’s a tough reality that not all kids are given the same opportunities.
Monarch School works closely with the community and the San Diego County Office of Education to change that. The school provides an accredited education to homeless and at-risk kids while caring for basic needs such as healthcare, food, clothing and personal hygiene. Your help can make a difference.” – monarchschools.org The Monarch School is a 501 3(c) non-profit organization (Tax ID # 33-0871354).
A Reason To Survive (ARTS):
A Reason To Survive (ARTS) organization is dedicated to healing, inspiring and empowering children facing life challenges by providing innovative arts-based programs, education and opportunities.
The ARTS Programs include ARTS Expression Sessions, Community Outreach Programs, Community Art Projects, Van-Go Transportation Program, The ARTS Gallery, Youth Job & Internship Opportunities, and ARTS Scholarships. –AReasonToSurvive.org

Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center is located in National City. The gardens will be a destination for children from the surrounding urban community to explore the connections between plants and history, science, art, literature, math, and nutrition. Crop plants will be grown in a manner that would allow children and community members to actively engage in the production of organic fruit and vegetables. Harvested produce will then be used during nutrition classes, cooking demonstrations, and workshops which will be held on a covered patio area and outdoor kitchen (capacity 40) adjacent to the garden. http://www.icfdn.org/initiatives/crossborder/index.php
