Just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world…she took the midnight train goin anywhere

Posted By Kelly Orange on February 19, 2007

Exhaustion has set in
I can’t quite think right
boundaries and pieces of paper
created in minds
being on both sides
of the story
at it’s worst
and at it’s best
makes me happy
and sad
balance
okko
A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night
I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her thats where I belong
Yet Im running to her like a rivers song
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
It’s a rare occasion
When your plans and expectations
Come down just exactly how you planned them.
Hey, life’s just that way.
You better face the facts, sweet lady,
Things change from day to day,
It all depends upon the situation,
Who can say, any way?
Time will tell,
Oh, and we’ll both know so very well,
Time will tell.
So just be patient
Until you reach the realization
You can’t have joy without a little sadness, too,
That’s just the way it is, hey,
Well mama-mama, can I go out tonight
There’s a real cool chick that I got my eyes-eyes on
Well now mama,
she’s only seventeen
Oh, but the way that girls moves
mama, she’s real mean
Well, now I just wanna go down town
See what the other guys are doing
I’ll be home before a quarter to nine
Mama, you know well I really ain’t foolin’
Mama, well please-please can I go
Lord-Lord, well I’ll be home before too long
Shyness is nice, and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You’d like to
So, if there’s something you’d like to try
If there’s something you’d like to try
ask me, I won’t say no, How could I?
You
Soft and only
You
Lost and lonely
You
Strange as angels
Dancing in the deepest oceans
Twisting in the water
You’re just like a dream
It’s the pisces
emotion
can’t stop it
don’t want to stop it
it is
and will be
that is always why I wrote
to communicate
with parents
with friends
who couldn’t get me
to leave my head
there’s something about 7 ‘s
97 17 07 27
interesting conversations
Underground
Visuals
really made me
think twice
three times
four, five & continually
since
about who you are
who you are
who you are
what you allow yourself to be
how you see yourself
how others see you
I don’t want to start any blasphemous rumors
but I think that God’s got a sick sense of humor
and when I die I expect to find him laughing
You say you’re down on your luck
hey baby, its a long, long way up
hold back now, hold back your fears
you say you’re really down and out
and you feel like there’s no way out now
let go now let go of your tears some more
She walked out with empty arms
Machine gun in her hand
She is good and she is bad
No one understands
I’ve been to this place so many times
Down roads and rows of dreams in my mind
I’m walking through the trees, In the Orchard
Still I see it, when I close my eyes
When sleep’s about to come after a restless night
I go there in my dreams, Back to the Orchard
Now potentialities are bound, and sleeping under my shelf.
Simply choose your destination from the diamond canopy,
and we’ll be there.
So I call you on the tin can phone.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby ii ii iii
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops thats where you’ll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can’t I?
Orange birds in my case
I credit most of these words to other artists
songs off a wedding mixed cd
my friends have good taste
Don’t stop believin’

Open call to artists…Alice in Wonderland art show..

Posted By Kelly Orange on February 8, 2007

No time to say goodbye, Hello artist friends!

This is an open call for entries.

Show Title:
‘Curiosity Often Leads to Trouble…’
A Tribute to Alice in Wonderland

curated by: Kelly Orange

@

Art of Framing Gallery
3333 Adams Avenue
San Diego, CA 92116
619-563-9770

April 6th-May 2nd

Opening reception: April 6th, 2007 6-10 pm

Nothing would be what it is:

We are looking for artists to participate in a group art show based on the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland. We are considering all types of artistic mediums, paintings, sculpture, performance, etc… There will be an opening reception Friday, April 6th from 6-10 pm, and the art will stay up all month. As artists I think we can all connect with nonsense, curiosities, white rabbits & troubles our mind can get us into…..

In my world:

1. All artwork must be for sale

2. The Gallery takes 35% commission on sold artwork

3. Deadline to receive work is March 30th

4. All artwork must be finished!!! — This means that the work must be able to hang on the wall. This does not mean that your artwork must be framed, but it does mean that the gallery will be selective as to what is acceptable for the show, even though yeah, you are creating your own nonsense.

5. Out of state artwork is accepted, but shipping costs must be paid for by artist (there are no other entry fees), otherwise it needs to be dropped off at the Art of Framing & picked up promptly after the show is taken down.

6. Some of you may need to send links & jpgs if I am unfamiliar with your work! I hope you should decide to participate, this will be a fun show!!!!

7. Don’t Hesitate! Please direct all responses about the Alice in Wonderland show to: kelly@orangefriendly.com

Other shows with open calls in the future:

Automobiles – or transportation in general
Pee Wee Herman – a show devoted to Paul Reubens
Religious / Spiritual Art – one artist suggested a theme show, ‘The Recovering Catholic’
911 – Either a show devoted to conspiracy theories in general or the events of 9/11
T-shirt Art show – wearable art, all t-shirts
Frame art show – emphasis on the frame and not on what it is framing

Let us know what interests you…. for information/conversation about these upcoming ideas for shows please contact Ryan@theartofframing.net or Blythe@theartofframing.net ….

All other inquiries about the Alice in Wonderland show please contact Kelly Orange at kelly@orangefriendly.com

Be Patient is very good advice, but the waiting makes me curious,
